Operating instructions for Livestock heat lamp

Ascott PY88 with energy saver switch - Ascott P48 without energy saver switch


1. The appliance may only be used with infrared reflector bulbs up to a maximum of 250 watts (Dull Emitter Bulbs to a maximum of 150 watts)

2. Make sure the appliance is safely and securely suspended by the chain and ceiling hook.
Do not operate with the protective wire guard removed.

3. Adjust the prescribed minimum operating distance of 1000 mm using the spring hook attached to the chain.

4. Before switching on, always make sure the distance between the lamp and livestock and/or flammable substances is at least 1000 mm in the direction of radiation, due to the risk of fire or burns to livestock.

5. Do not place the appliance nearer than 1000 mm to hay, straw or other flammable substances due to the risk of fire.

6. Do not cover the appliance while in use.

7. Do not use long straw as bedding material as this may be a fire risk.

8. The connecting cable must be kept out of the reach of livestock.

9. To ensure trouble-free operation, make sure the appliance, wire guard and lamp
are regularly cleaned and kept free of dust and dirt.
To clean the heat lamp (handle, aluminium screen inside and out, wire guard and
reflector), wipe it over with a dry cloth.
Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance to disconnect it from the mains.

10. The mains connection cables are subject to a certain amount of wear and must be checked regularly to make sure they are in good condition.

11. Damaged appliances must be taken out of operation immediately.

12. Inspections and repairs may only be performed by a qualified electrician.

13. PY88 heat lamp with energy saver switch, the power consumption can be
reduced by 50%, e.g. from 250 to 125 watts.

Caution! The aluminium reflector gets hot during
continuous operation!
